Shimla is known as Queen of the Hills for its beauty. Queen Hill is located in the southwest of the Himalayas with a height of 2206 meters. It is popular among tourists and newly married couples from all over the world.

The best time to visit Shimla is during May to June and December to January when romance and beauty are baked into every inch of the soil here. Clear blue skies in summer, sprinkles of powdery snow in the winter, the spicy and earthy scent carried by pines, firs, cedars and oak trees.

Once the summer capital of British India, Shimla still retains much of its colonial charm, evident in its buildings, churches, and Mall Road, which is a bustling hub of activity lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Christ Church: Located on the Ridge, Christ Church is one of Shimla’s most prominent landmarks. Built in the neo-Gothic style, it’s the second oldest church in North India and is known for its beautiful stained glass windows.

Shimla State Museum: This museum showcases the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, with exhibits on art, archaeology, and history. It’s housed in a colonial building and is a great place to learn about the region’s rich history and culture.

Kalka-Shimla Railway, Shimla: The Kalka Shimla Railway was built during the British rule in India with an aim to connect by Shimla the summer capital of British Indian rail network. The rail network holds the Guinness Book of World Records for its 96 kilometers steepest rise in the altitude with crossover of 800 bridges and viaducts, it is one of the most beautiful hill railways in India. It was considered the “crown jewel” of the Indian National Railways during British times.
