The Basilica of Bom Jesus church is one of a kind in India and is known for its exemplary baroque architecture. Built in the year 1594 and consecrated in 1605, the building of this church coincides with the beginning of Christianity in India. The church is located in Old Goa in Bainguinim about 10 km away from Panjim. The oldest church in Goa, Basilica of Bom Jesus holds the remains of St. Francis Xavier, a special friend of St. Ignatius Loyola with whom he founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Even after 400 years, the remains are in a good condition and are taken out once every decade. A site with rich cultural and religious significance, the Basilica of Bom Jesus has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Ideally the best time to visit any place is considered when the weather conditions are delightful. For Goa, you can choose to go in November, December, January and February which is the peak season and July, August, September and October which is the moderate season.
There is a dress code for entering. Shorts , sleeveless, etc., are not allowed. Candolim beach is 20km away from Basilica of Bom Jesus and 15km away from Panjim. It is considered to be one of the longest beach and is very calm and peaceful. The beach has many shops and restaurants. A passport is a must for all international guests coming to Deltin Royale, and they must present the same upon request. The dress code in general is formal or smart casual. Shorts, sleeveless T-shirts, flip-flops, and chappals are not permitted.
