Fatehpur Sikri is a historical city located in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It was founded by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century and served as the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585. The city was constructed using red sandstone and is known for its magnificent architecture, blending elements of Persian, Hindu, and Islamic styles. This grand mosque is one of the largest mosques in India and was constructed by Akbar in 1571. It showcases exquisite architectural details and is still used as a place of worship. This white marble tomb is dedicated to the Sufi saint Salim Chishti and is considered a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Pilgrims from all over the world visit this site to seek blessings.

A city, predominantly made of red sandstone, Fatehpur Sikri was founded in 16th century by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is essentially a fortified city built by the king and had been the capital of his Empire for fifteen years. Now a UNESCO world heritage site and a famous tourist attraction, it is a fine example of Mughal architecture.
